For our team in Berlin, Germany, we are looking for a highly skilled and motivated
Your task in our team
- You are responsible for procuring products and services needed by the MSA plant in Berlin.
- Negotiating with suppliers, you achieve the best conditions for MSA, such as most competitive cost, desired quality level and delivery within required lead time, thus enabling MSA to operate efficiently and competitively on the market.
- In coordination with our global sourcing team, you define and implement sourcing strategies that deliver the desired objectives regarding financials, risk mitigation, supplier performance and on-time launches in New Product Development.
- You lead negotiations and manage relations with major suppliers locally to ensure that key cost savings targets, quality standards and lead times of products and services are met. In addition, you review and approve supplier contracts to ensure that all commercial terms and conditions are properly defined.
- You review assessments of supplier performance to achieve improvements of commercial terms and business relationships.
- You collaborate with cross-functional teams to select suppliers for new products, take make-versus-buy decisions, and optimize our supplier base.
- You manage the local sourcing team, defining objectives, following up on achievements, establishing development plans and ensuring performance and engagement.
- You use advanced sourcing tools, such as Directworks and ensure process documentation as per our policies and procedures.
Your profile: Expertise meets experience
- You have a university degree in economics, supply chain management or engineering. An advanced degree is preferred.
- You have at least 7 years of management experience in strategic sourcing of raw, semi-finished, and finished materials in an industrial environment and in the categories plastics and injection molding, metals, textiles and PCBA.
- You have expertise in purchasing policy, category-based sourcing, supplier selection and qualification, competitive bidding and negotiation, supplier relationship management, strategic supplier development and procurement performance reporting.
- You have experience using procurement systems, such as SAP (or similar), e-Procurement tools, purchase order automation, spend management solutions and MS Office.
- Preferably, you have an APICS CSCP and/or a CIPS certification or a certification in lean improvement, continuous improvement or change management.
- Preferably, you have experience in materials management in an industrial environment.
- You are willing to travel about 20 % of your worktime.
