We are looking for a Strategic Purchaser Non-Ferrous metals for our EMEA sourcing team in Goslar who wants to be a part of a fast moving and international environment with a clear, sustainable and future-oriented direction.
About the position
You will be a part of the EMEA Sourcing team for direct material, and will take responsibility for sourcing Non-Ferrous metals mainly for Höganäs Germany GmbH but also for Höganäs Sweden AB and Höganäs Belgium S.A. With the support of the management system sourcing process, you make sure that Höganäs’ current and future needs of direct material is sufficiently supported. This includes establishing strategies, identifying sourcing risks, developing the supplier base, ensuring that Höganäs favours the best product or service with a professional relationship and a continuous market overview.
To drive our success, you will be in close collaboration with both internal and external interfaces, and you will optimise Höganäs’ supplier base by establishing and maintaining professional and long-term business relationships with them. You will negotiate and close agreements to reach the lowest overall cost of ownership, and you will ensure that all systems and interfaces are kept up-to-date as well as making sure that all practicalities around the contract run without disturbances for involved parties.
To ensure continuous long-term supply to Höganäs’ operations, you will identify potential suppliers and alternative raw materials, observe the market performance to anticipate future shifts in markets and inform management about strategic threats and opportunities. Also, you will make tactical and strategic decisions within the scope of the sourcing portfolio and take the lead of the annual supplier performance evaluation.
Your profile
- University degree or proven record of commercial or purchasing in an international environment
- High level of financial understanding and experience
- Significant negotiation experience and skills in an international environment
- Fluent in English and German, both written and orally
- Computer literacy (M3, Microsoft Office etc.)
- Basic understanding in production planning
- Team player
A background in the metals industry is favourable but not necessary. We also expect you to be highly motivated to deliver the best results, both on your own and as part of our EMEA team.
